It is that time once again when parties, weddings and other celebrations are in full swing. Responding to invitations whether you intend to go or not should be a simple matter. An “x” in the yes or no box, a Mazel Tov, your signature—-slide it in the pre-paid envelope and you’re done. Even easier is when an e-mail address is provided. Simply pull out your phone and VOILA! You’re done!
We are all guilty of not responding when we get an invitation in the mail. Meanwhile, on the other side, there is someone who is trying to figure out his or her guest list. They are dealing with a party planner or caterer or event coordinator who needs to have an idea of how many will attend. Be the one who they don’t have to call up personally to find out if you’re coming. That is one of the most effective acts of Chesed (Loving-Kindness) one can do.
